Last week The Fader and Goose Island beer teamed up to for Analog Migration, a cross genre music campaign that paired indie rock sensation Tanlines with up-and-coming- Chicago rapper Vic Mensa. The event featured a variety of craft beers by Goose Island and plenty of it. The crowd was mixture of underground hip hop fans and younger rock listeners.
The event exposed attendees to different sounds, at the expense of more engaged performances. Mensa’s set featured many tracks that the crowd (who were largely unfamiliar with him) did not recognize. Similarly those that came for Mensa did not know Tanline’s library. Both acts were largely unfazed and brought their signature performances.
